Geothermal Therapy, LaStone, Stone Massage

LaStone is unique

There are of course many things that makes LaStone® unique. As it is a continuous education course, the practitioners already are skilled in bodywork. They have a solid foundation upon which they add the work with temperature and stones, thereby enhancing their already existing treatments.

My LaStone® expression is a result of both my Massage Créatif background (a combination of Swedish, Californian and other massage styles), my interest in both deep tissue massage and Native American spirituality, and of course the courses I have attended.

The result is a massage which can be tailored to meet practically all needs. The stones are used both to massage with, but also as placements to warm tissue and help ground the client. Using temperature enhances the effects of the massage and various ceremonies included can influence on emotional and spiritual levels.

Below is a list of some of the trademarks of LaStone®.

  • LaStone® believes in using a combination of both heated and chilled stones within a session
  • A Spinal Layout of up to 16 stones
  • Energy connection between the practitioner and the client
  • Chakra balancing with both heated and chilled stones
  • Geothermal therapy principles
  • Contraindications and considerations
  • Safety and research
  • Spiral opening and closing (Original Body)
  • Spinal spirals (Original Body)
  • Stone massage techniques
  • Proper sanitation of stones and equipment

This is of course not all. Every practitioner adds his or her specialities to the treatments, creating truly unique experiences and expressions. So when you search for a LaStone® practitioner, do not only look at what LaStone® courses they have attended (though that’s a strong indicator of their type of massage), but also what other background they have within body and energy work.

Your next LaStone® treatment can be like an intensive deep tissue massage without the usual discomforts. It can be a relaxing and stress-relieving session that makes you float away. It can be energizing and renewing, opening up for your creative juices or the next step on your spiritual journey. The possibilities are so many, all depending on what you want out of your massage.

So please don’t hesitate to ask your practitioner questions to discover if what they have to offer will match your needs and intentions with the massage. Don’t assume or presume how a session will be based on other stone massages. LaStone® sessions will be very different from anything else.
